Being out in Fulton County, we are 45 minutes to an hour away from Albany. The Albany government may not be familiar with some of the employers and assets we’ve got in this region. Having an advocate like the Chamber… being able to represent businesses from Fulton and Montgomery Counties is critical to us and to our success. It’s also a great opportunity to make connections and build relationships and partnerships so that we can share some resources and ideas. One of the biggest things that we get particularly as a non-profit is the networking and making connections with other businesses in the community that sometimes provide resources to our agency in the form of donations or donated services. This is very valuable to us. The Chamber’s mission is to provide advocacy and represent the businesses in the two counties… whether it be regarding legislation in Albany or local issues going on. I think that connection helps not just the businesses that make a profit but the non-profits too. I just think the professional connections that you can make by joining the Chamber are invaluable. During that time the Chamber has provided us with many positive opportunities to make connections with other businesses in the community.
